MC 2025: Day 30

Wow I made it! I didn’t think I could but I did and I’ve got 4 days left plus the ease out of 5 days!

In the last 5-7 days, Ive had a sore throat so bad that its difficult to swallow, at the end of it ive been coughing due to throat itch, then after that, my tongue started cracking and showing red spots that it stung when I drank the lemonade. And oh! Ive been spotting the whole week!

But, I wasn’t feverish, or out. I was ok.

So I guess that was the 2nd wave of detox?

Now, half of my tongue is almost pink, and it barely hurts anymore when I drink the lemonade, but yesterday was terrible. – is this what they were talking about? That your tongue will go pink once you’re done with the detox? Then how come I haven’t read or come across this pain that Im feeling??

Im excited to see if its going to get all pink by the time I finish – in 4 days!

With my periods, spotting came 2 days earlier than expected and lasted a whole week. And my flow started since Sunday evening. The flow was moderate yesterday and I think its tapering off today. So this is an unusual amount of flow for me, its less. But it came almost on time.

Good news, Im in the 70s again! I cant remember when I last weighed in the 70s range. I woke up Monday and I was 79.3kgs.. That’s a few grams short to 10kgs in 4weeks! I fit comfortably in one of my slacks from university days! Ok, given that the pants were supposed to be a loose fit, but still I fit!

Also, last night at pilates, I saw myself in the mirror and I liked my face. I recognize that face and that glow! I love it. Pilates practice is starting to make more sense now, as I find more flow and ease through it.

Tbh, Im a bit scared when I finish the cleanse and lose all this. After the trip though I will go on it again for 15-20days just to get rid of any bloat and inflammation, and if I lose a few kgs in the process, why not? Then Im ready for Philippines :D

Week 7, 2021 - Emotions and Eating

Good morning!!!

Woke up today dreading the scales but all is good. After week 7, I lost an additional 3.2kgs!! **pats back** If I do not include the weight gained last week, I lost about 2.4kgs in the past week. **still pats myself on the back** hehehe

This diet really is a whole lot of things. Yesterday in particular, I was feeling very low, I have some issues Im trying to fix and Im just getting started on it. Basically, I know Im scared, scared to fail and that I will not able to carry through. Its a bit difficult to put myself on the positive side of the fence, my heart is just filled with dread and fear. As a result, I was thinking of food to eat, and not the good ones too (hint: cookies and caramel popcorn).

I know my hunger was an emotional one. I know, I was aware, but the temptation too strong. It was a mental struggle - an argument between long term gains and what I think I deserve at the moment. :'(

Kept myself occupied until the last meal of the day and somewhat succeeded in staying on plan. I handled the situation in the easiest way i know how. However, I think, the best way to have handled that, is to face the fear head on, turn it around, bring myself to realize the positive side of what im doing and what I am capable of achieving. I have everything I need in me to succeed, why am I overcome with fear?

I dunno... one day at the time.

Week 5, 2021

Down by 10.2kgs after 5 weeks on being on the plan.

However, the 5th week only registered a loss of 1.2kgs.

Was it the peppermint tea?
Was it the 1st dose of vaccine?
Or the lack of sleep?
The use of olive oil instead of olive oil spray?

All of the above? Going to buy PAM later and start with it tomorrow and try my best to be in bed by 10pm and hopefully, i fall asleep by 10:30.

Week 6.. here we go..

ROUND UP 2.0: Week 1 - 4 Results

Hola peeps!

I've got some great news. After 30 days of being on the plan, I lost 8.6 kgs! That's just 100gms less than my 1st go I had with the program 5 years ago without exercise and with deviation (see Food Pushers entry), so I'm pretty happy about it.

Cue in.......

As for the scale that tells me my life 😛, I've seen some nice improvements too, most notably Body age and Visceral Fat have both gone down.

I haven't taken my body measurements when I started, probably because I never thought I could do it again after so many failed attempts. I wanted to do that this morning but I can't find our tape measure. I'm doing that tomorrow so I have better reporting next time ;).

Observations:

  1. Hair and Skin - both definitely looking much better. My hair looks healthier and my skin is not dry. I don't think my hair is falling out than the normal daily hair loss.

Aside from being on the plan, I'm taking a high dosage of liquid Omega 3s (Ultimate Omega by Nordic Naturals), it's quite pricey for a 4 oz bottle. I've switched to their Complete Omega which has a lower dosage of Omega 3 but has Omega 6 and 9 in the mix. It's cheaper and twice the size. So let's see..

I'm also avoiding direct sun exposure because I get that a lot of that from Oct-Apr at work.

  2. BMs - way more regular before I got on the plan. I'm happy about this because I have poor BMs that I take a laxative tea at least once a week to get a good clear up. Nowadays it comes like clockwork in the morning.

  3. Exercise - I did NADA! On my first try, I was still pretty active and reduced my workouts to yoga at least 3 times a week. Now, all I did was walk for about an hour thrice? I just walked, because I'm feeling like a lazy bum from doing nothing.

  4. Oranges - I love them! :D I never really ate oranges by choice. Now, I have 1 every day (except for the past 2 days)

  5. Sleep - I'm still struggling with this. Before the Eid break, I couldn't sleep early. But since the holiday started, I'm sleeping more. Was it because I cut the DC? Or maybe I'm not thinking about work so much? NO STRESS LIFESTYLE.

  6. Mood - definitely better. I feel good. Same as the 1st time, I didn't feel the same amount of "dread and depression" prior to my periods. I felt the lethargy and the quick temper, but nothing compared to how I felt each month prior to it. I wasn't sickly as well.

  7. Energy - I can't really gauge, because I haven't done anything that's extra. Overall, I just feel better

  8. Allergies - For years, I've depended on a nasal spray to clear my nose up. My nose is clogged as I type this however, I feel that my use of the spray has lessened. I look forward to getting rid of this nasal spray for good.
I'm not as strict on meal preparations like before. I don't prepare my meals for the week in advance anymore. I'm trying to establish the habit of cooking my food per day, as I believe that's how it's supposed to be, so the food is fresh.

The plan really works as long as you follow it. It is difficult at the beginning but once you get over the initial weeks, it is pretty easy to be on. On some days I'm craving, but I think its something to do with the timings of my fruit intake or I'm just missing the thought of eating "good" junk.

But honestly, I'm not hungry and no longer craving. And it feels so damn good to be rid of that dependency on the stuff that's not good for me.

I look forward to the days ahead :)

24th Day: Revelations Lost in Time

Ok, so here am I thinking and complaining Im losing weight so slowly and just waking up everyday, weighing and getting off the scale disappointed. But someone from the forum suggested to check my past results, which I haven’t thought of doing because I thought I lost all that data in my corrupted hard drive. Luckily, I have this blog where I wrote Round-ups. I checked my ROUND UP ->Week 1 to 4 & Results and lo and behold, Im just being paranoid about my losses now. On my first 4 weeks during my first try, I lost 8.7kgs in total, and right now, I’ve already lost 6.4kgs and I still have 8 days to go until I complete 1 month.

So I guess this is in order:

But before I read the post in the forum, I already am a bit enlightened by the changes in my body in the span of 3 weeks:
  1. Clothes definitely fit better
  1. My face looks less bloated
  1. Skin looks so much better. I don’t really wear makeup and Im fortunate to work in an office that I can get away with bare skin.

I’m still tweaking my plan, trying to figure out which is causing me to lose at the rate that Im losing. I’m reducing my cracker intake and keeping off the mayo for a few days. I bought that Barts Mild Curry Powder and used it once, Im also going to wait until after my weigh in to use it again. I also really need to sort my sleep. Im not sleeping well and I feel tired. I think this is the missing factor to really get the best out of this diet.I also plan to do the same tracking as I used to, Im just not sure if I will have the patience for it. 😃Cheers to the day, still deviation free.

Day 33-34: Weightloss: Men vs. Females :D

Im back in the game folks. I have totally cleared that deviation out of my system and all the havoc that TOM brought with it. Its quite fascinating actually, how are bodies change during our cycle.

I had a an argument about this with my bf. Well, he started it!!

He said that women always claim that guys lose weight faster than women and he argues that its not because of the gender, its because women succumb more to our cravings easier than they do. We cant also say that its because of the level of activity because there are men who are also sedentary. Its just the will of the person and that we (women), always blame it on hormones!

And I lost it :D jeezus. I explained to him that because there is a certain time of the month when our cravings are more/higher to the point of unreasonable. For the rest of the months we are good, we can beat the cravings, but there is that 1 week wherein it is much more tougher for us to resist our cravings. Its like our body needs it, right?

I cant explain to him that our bodies undergo stress during that PMS period or TOM, Im not a doctor, but I think our strong cravings or hunger then is a result of this stress. The body wants comfort through food. Still he kept on arguing and then I said:

"NO PERIOD. NO OPINION. SO YOU SHUSH!" "You cannot understand because you don't have to endure that every single month!"

Then he shut up. hahaha.. Its like being kicked in the nuts, we don't know how painful it is because we don't have them.. same as giving birth, they don't know, and they never will.

In other news, I recorded my weight loss on my online CD account and Im going to do my blood test tomorrow. Yikes.. lets see what they will say about that.

Day 33-34: deviation free.
Mood = tired and sleepy, but Im ok
Hunger = only when I watch Chopped! :D

Day 31: After 30 days

Lost 5.5kg in 30 days! I will do my Chandler dance later.

I haven't really measured myself. I have my official 30 days with the online program at the end of the month. So I will measure on the 1st Sept and start things off there.

Im still glad for my weight loss in spite of the difficulties within that 30 days and I just cant wait for the losses that I will incur. I hope this round will not be as frustrating as the last.

Couldn't eat on time (again!) late breakfast, late lunch and late dinner. Maybe I should set this as my normal meal times. Its been like this for almost a month.

Nothing much to report. I think Im over that phase of frustration.

Day 31: deviation free. 1 fruit under allowance.
Mood = good, energized, jumpy like I had too much coffee
Hunger = none. 0.

Day 22: Salami Backed & Road Rage

Warning: a lot of profanity in this post

Weighed in this morning, and lost 2.1kgs. Now thats a total of 7.3kgs! :)

Saturday is becoming a day of chores for me uff-- laundry, folding clothes, house cleaning, groceries, and cooking my 5days worth of meals, which usually ends at 1am.

Salami Back
looks painful, doesnt it? :)
In my attempt to de-stress, I went for a cupping massage. Turns out, I am really stressed out and lots of toxins in my body.. It was lovely. Their massage therapists are the best of what I have tried so far.

After getting relaxed, I drove home and encountered some traffic, which I tried hard not to bother me. I went to shop for groceries, which took me less than an hour, coz now I mostly stay in almost 1 section of the huge supermarket (well except for the cat food section which was almost on the other end of the store).

Picked up my foster cat, my naughty boy Henry, who, according to the lady who took him for adoption day, got a lot of interest but was unfortunately not adopted.

All was fine, until I became a victim of road rage. A guy was trying to cut in front of me after queueing in the long line of cars, and he had the nerve to shout at me and call the police at me saying Im not giving way. I lost my nerve and shouted back! Like if I can swear in this
country without getting prosecuted I would have done so already. I took his picture that he was trying to cut in front of me as a proof to the police if ever he files a complaint, but he in turn took my cars picture and my picture, I was soooo fucking mad!!!!!!!! I got so stressed that I felt some acidity in my tummy..

I tried to let it go during the rest of the night, by going on with my routine and cooking but I still get stressed about it. I wasnt wrong in the first place and that asshole had the nerve to call the police on me?? mother fucker!!!!

I tried the breathing technique, didnt work. I just want to let this go.. But everytime I remember it, I get worked up, and I feel that acidity in my tummy...

Other than that, my meals were on as planned, today was a beef day, and quite delcious in fact. I had everything- meals, vitamins, crispbreads, fruits, and a 500ml DC.

DV free!

STATISTICS

I am shy to post photo's of myself, so here are the fitness parameters (definitions below chart) that I am watching out for. Im grateful for the inclusion of the inBody fat analysis machine at the gym that I can use for free, so I dont succumb to weighing in daily.

During the Cohen phase, I will base my success on:

a) weight loss
b) clothes size
c) how much of that weight is actually from fat and not from muscle mass
d) actual measurements

As I seriously dont know how CD will affect my figures based on these parameters.

Those highlighted in moccha will be double checked and may change.. somehow measurements didnt make sense..
its difficult to take your own measurements in some parts.. :D

DEFINITIONS

Muscle mass is the weight of muscle in your body. Muscle mass percentage (also called lean body mass) is actually composed of your muscle, bone tissue, and the water in your body and organs. Calculating your muscle mass percentage determines how much of your total body weight is lean mass versus how much is body fat.

Body fat mass is the total weight of the person's fat and consists of essential body fat and storage body fat. Essential body fat is necessary to sustain life and reproductive functions and is 3%-5% in men and 8€“12% in women. Storage body fat comprises of fat accumulation in the adipose tissues, part of which protects internal organs in the chest and abdomen.

Total Body Water Percentage is the total amount of fluid in a person’s body expressed as apercentage of their total weight.

Fat-free mass is comprised of the nonfat components of the human body. Skeletal muscle, bone and water are all examples of fat-free mass.
The body mass index (BMI), or Quetelet index, is a measure for human body shape based on an individual's mass and height.
The body fat percentage of a human or other living being is the total mass of fat divided by total body mass; body fat includes essential body fat and storage body fat.
Waist–hip ratio is the ratio of the circumference of the waist to that of the hips
Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is defined as the rate at which your body uses energy when you are resting in order to keep vital functions going such as breathing.
Muscle Control/ Fat Control - how much muscle /fat you need to gain or lose
Fitness Score- shows overall body strength  based on measured muscle and fat mass
